Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the butler service, ensuring world-class hospitality standards.
• Provide personalized and discreet service to hotel owners and guests throughout their stay.
• Act as a key representative, hosting and engaging with guests professionally.
• Anticipate and fulfil guests’ needs proactively while maintaining impeccable discretion.
• Supervise and train junior butlers and hospitality staff to uphold service excellence.
• Ensure the smooth daily operation of the residence and service areas.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
• Oversee the presentation, cleanliness, and upkeep of all areas within the residence.
• Manage guest dining experiences, including setting up and supervising breakfast, lunch, and dinner
services.
• Conduct daily inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure readiness for guest arrivals.
• Perform quality checks throughout the day to uphold impeccable service standards.
• Assist in stock control and inventory management.
• Implement and maintain security and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with external service providers when necessary.
• Be adaptable and able to handle last-minute guest requests with professionalism and efficiency.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced luxury environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior butler, guest relations, or similar high-end hospitality
role.
• Proven leadership and staff management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a high-end hospitality setting.
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• In-depth knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine pairings, and formal service.
• Familiarity with Cape Town’s top restaurants and attractions.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends.
• Hospitality degree or relevant certification preferred.
• Knowledge of wine, food and beverage service and hosting skills.
